I think the book ended with rowdy and junior playing basketball with a description of turtle lake because it represents or symbolize’s memories of the juniors tribe.
- A time when i feel i did not fit in was in the beganing of my 8th grade year, i had just started at a new school and didn’t know anybody. -To my understanding post-colonial theory helps readers ask questions about who talks, for who, under what conditions, and to why.
My favorite character in the book ‘the absolutely true diary of a part time indian’ would be junior because i like how he did the right thing to going to a new school even tho he knew bad things could come of it.
it is easy for me to understand themes, symbols and motifs not so much but i am getting better at recognizing them.
I’ve only read one book on my own time outside of school, called My Bloody Life. This book is about a puerto rican boy named Raymundo Sanchez that just moved to inner city chicago with his mom, after they get to chicago and get settled in his mom brings home a new boyfriend, who eventualy turned into her husband. At first things where okay, but after his mom had two more kids with her new spouse, things start to turn for the worse. Raymundo starts to be niglected and abused to the point where he’s turned to the world of drugs and gangs. Now i’ve never been really abused nor niglected, but i can relate moving to another city with a single mom and i know how it feels to have two younger siblings getting more attention after being used to the only child.
My favorite book is called “my bloody life” this book is about a kid who grows up in inner city Chicago and get deeply involved in the gang world. I think this is my favorite book because it is one of the few books i’ve read on my own time and i can somewhat relate to his story because in the book his dad leave his mom and she is left to take care of him and his siblings alone until tha mom meets another guy and he starts to niglect the oldest son which turns him to gangs. I’ve never been niglected or never actually got into a gang’ but in other parts of the book i can relate to in my own ways. Im an active kid. i like to do sports , be outside all day and travel. last summer i traveled to 5 diffrent states and enjoyed every minute.
The lady with the yellow dress and the dalmation print, gets a unexpected vist from her neighboor one night as she is sitting at her table writing a letter to her husband who is out at war. when her neighboor exclaims a letter came to her home that was intended for her. the lady in the yellow is suprised with a confused facial expression.
In the letter it starts to explain that her husband has died serving in the war. the lady in the yellow is heart broken and lost, she breaks out in a burst of tears and the neighboor stays to show her sympathy for the widow as she cries historically at the unexpected news.
I thought of this about the picture because i recently seen an old war movie that had a scene that reminded me of the picture.
